A free form yet functional wooden box with a lift out tray of cherry with redwood burl by BurlWoodBox.
We call this style wood box a kidney box due to it's shape.
This handmade box can be used as a jewelry box, on your desk, or for storage of many special items.
Perhaos it is just the perfect handmade gift for any special ocassion.
Overall "square" dimensions are 8 1/2" x 4 1/4" x 2 3/4".
There is about 3/4" inch depth beneath the removable tray.
As always, no stains or dyes used on the boxes. Mother Nature creates the colors.
The box is finished with hand-rubbed tung oil and polyurethane in the undercoats for better sealing properties. This finish is a "build" finish with many, many coats required for filling with only 1 coat per 24 hour period.
Hinges are 5mm brass barrel type for a nice clean look.
Box is lined with wine colored rayon flocking to compliment the exterior colors
We can personalize this box for you with a laser engraving for an additional charge of $10.00. We suggest the inner lid as engraving on the burl can be very confusing to read.

Absolutely gorgeous box. The wood tone and shine was stunning. I had the interior lid of the box laser-engraved and it turned out beautifully.
