Handmade wooden treasure box of mahogany with spalted elm by BurlWoodBox.
This small wood box is perfect for keepsakes as well as a special gift presentation box. It can also be used on your desk or as a small jewelry box.
Exterior dimensions 6" x 3.5" x 1.6" approx.
Interior dimension approx. 5.25" x 2.35" x 1.1"
The natural colors of the mahogany and the spalted elm offer a warm contrast of hues offered by Mother Nature.
Spalting is a process. To be more specific....it is a step in the process of decay of the wood. The fungi have attacked this maple and then left these lovely patterns. The process has been halted as the wood is totally dry. The fungi have died.
This box is lined with wine colored flocking.
Finished with hand-rubbed tung oil with a bit of polyurethane mixed into the undercoats for better sealing properties.
We can personalize this box for you with a laser engraving for an additional charge of $10.00. We suggest the inner lid for engraving.
